The Tian Tan Buddha in Black & White

I’m starting a new feature here on Never-Ending Footsteps called the Friday Photo Essay . I’ve taken almost 20,000 photos in the short time that I’ve been travelling and unfortunately only a small percentage of them manage to make it into my posts. From now on, every Friday I’m going to take the opportunity to show a selection of photos from my travels, starting this week with Hong Kong! When I arrived in Hong Kong, I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did. In fact, I only set aside one day of sightseeing for my time there.  After checking into my hostel, I decided to go out exploring – the Tian Tan Buddha was at the top of my list. It’s the world’s largest outdoor bronze Buddha and it definitely didn’t disappoint! I spent over an hour wandering around, admiring the statue and surrounding views.
